Small Groups
A small group is the most effective environment for us to be personally encouraged and challenged to grow in our relationship with God and with other people. It's the best place to be yourself, meet new friends, enjoy a snack, ask questions, and discuss issues relevant to everyday life - all in a casual, friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere of mutual encouragement.
At Renaissance, we believe Small Groups are just as important as Sunday Gatherings. In fact, Groups are the skeleton - the infrastructure - of our Church. Our Leadership-Team is group-based. Our Student-Ministry is group-based. Even our Children's-Church is group-based.
Why? Because meaningful relationships are KEY for real and lasting life-change...
Because God Himself said that it's not good for us to be alone... Because Jesus Christ chose to form a group of twelve*, invested the majority of His time with that group, and modeled "Group-Life" for us. He knew the value of small groups for spiritual growth, for healthy friendships, for authentic community, and for leadership development, among other things. *(later to be known as the Twelve Apostles)
