Giving FAQ

Is online giving secure?
Yes, absolutely! All sensitive financial information is stored with bank-level security. Our online giving service provider complies with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS) as a Level 1 Service Provider to ensure that the entire giving process is safe and secure. All transmissions to our banking partner are via an encrypted HTTPS connection. Renaissance Church does not store credit card information.

Will 100% of my online giving go to Renaissance Church?
Renaissance pays processing fees for each transaction.

  • Bank account (ACH) – 0.64% of the amount donated
  • Debit and credit cards – 2.21% of the amount donated

To minimize the processing fees, please donate through your bank account. To ensure that 100% of your giving goes to Renaissance Church, you can donate via your bank’s bill-pay service, by dropping a check or cash in one of the collection boxes at the Opera House, or by mailing a check.

How do I set up bill-pay?
You can use your bank’s bill-pay service to give from your checking or savings account. Go to your bank’s website, follow the instructions to set up Renaissance Church as a payee, and schedule a one-time or recurring gift. Your gift will be received by Renaissance Church as a mailed check.

How do I give cash or a check in-person at Renaissance Church?
Check or cash donations can be dropped off at one of the GIVE collection boxes in the Opera House. Look for a box on the second floor landing (outside of the Ren Kids space), just inside the third floor doorway, and in the Café area. GIVE envelopes are available at the collection boxes and on the back of the chairs in the Auditorium.

How do I designate my giving to Ren Cares or to a specific project?
Giving designations can be the Renaissance Church General Fund, Ren Cares, or the Building Fund. We do not have separate funds for projects. All checks must be made out to Renaissance Church with Ren Cares in the subject line, if applicable. For online giving, you may select “General Fund” or “Ren Cares” or “Building Fund.”  For text giving, you can text just an amount (that goes to the General Fund) or text the amount along with the keyword CARES (for the Ren Cares Fund) or the amount with the keyword BUILDING. Can I give via my smartphone?
Yes! Just go to renchurch.com/give, click here for online giving, or just text “GIVE” to 908-356-5546.

A reply will be sent to you with a link through which you can send a one-time or recurring gift. Don’t forget to add Renaissance Church Giving to your contacts. Click here to download the vCard.

How will my phone number be used?
Your phone number will not be sold, traded, or given out to third parties. You will only be texted to confirm your giving and receive responses to other requests you make.

How can I change my recurring gift?
From a smartphone, simply text “EDIT” to 908-356-5546, and a reply will be sent to you with a link through which you can view and cancel your scheduled gifts, add a new scheduled gift, or change your payment method.

If you do not have a smartphone or prefer to edit your scheduled giving online using a computer, log into your account by clicking here and then “Sign In.” After you sign in, click “Scheduled” to cancel your scheduled gifts and “Give Now” to set up a recurring gift with a different amount. Click on your initials in the upper right-hand corner, then click on “My Account” to change your payment method or address.

What if I accidentally text the wrong giving amount?
When you make a gift, you will receive a text confirmation that re-states the amount given. If you made a mistake, you can respond with the word “REFUND” within the first 15 minutes and you will not be charged. After 15 minutes, you can contact our office at give@renchurch.com.

How do I view my giving history or download a giving statement? Will I receive an annual summary for tax purposes?
To view your giving history, log into Ren Connect (renchurch.com/renconnect) and click “Give,” then “Schedules/History.” To view or print a giving statement, click on “Giving Statement” in the upper right-hand corner and choose individual or family and the time period you want to print.

We’ll mail you an annual giving statement for your tax records at the end of January. If you need an interim summary, or if you have a question about a particular donation, please feel free to contact us at give@renchurch.com or 908-277-3555.

Please note, giving history accessed online reflects only online and text giving through Kindrid. A complete record of your giving, including checks and cash, can be found in Ren Connect (renchurch.com/renconnect).
